Getting started with Crumb

Crumb is your personal recipe archive — a place to save recipes from anywhere and preserve the stories behind them. Here’s how to get started.

Create your account

Download Crumb from the App Store and open it. Tap Get started and sign up with your email address or Apple ID. No credit card required — the free plan lets you save up to 30 recipes.

Save your first recipe

There are a few ways to add a recipe to Crumb:

From Safari or Chrome (share sheet)

  1. Open any recipe page in your browser
  2. Tap the Share button
  3. Select Crumb from the app list
  4. Crumb extracts the ingredients and steps automatically

Take a photo Point your camera at a handwritten recipe card or a page in a cookbook. Crumb reads the text and formats it as a recipe.

Paste a URL In Crumb, tap the + button and paste a link. Crumb fetches the recipe and strips away the surrounding blog content.

Type it yourself Tap +Add manually to enter a recipe from scratch.

Organise your archive

Once saved, recipes live in My Recipes. You can:

  • Add tags (e.g. weeknight, Christmas, Grandma’s)
  • Mark favourites with ⭐
  • Add a personal note — the story behind the recipe, who gave it to you, variations you’ve tried
